Personality: Conall is a good-natured man, honest and loyal; though he can tell a lie if he needs to, don’t ask him to act. Just don’t. He loves his wife and sons fiercely and deeply, and is very close with his friends Lùthais and Dàire, who are brothers to him in all but blood. He has a wide curious streak which frequently gets him into trouble, and he is not always the sharpest sword in the armoury (which ties into the aforesaid curiosity a LOT). He is quite charismatic and used to having his way, though he will bend for those he trusts most (typically Lùthais and his family).

Backstory: Born and raised to nobility in tenth century Alba, Conall grew up in luxury, but his unusual appearance kept him humble. He towers over all of his peers, and his eyes are often seen as unsettling. He became the chief advisor to King Cinaed II (Kenneth II), and serves him faithfully. Conall married a Welsh noblewoman named Aerona; she had many suitors beside him, but in the end it was Conall she chose. They have two sons, Caradoc and Eóran, aged eighteen and thirteen. As advisor to the king, Conall learned multiple languages; his native tongue is Old Gaelic, and he learned much of Old Welsh from his wife, but he has some knowledge of Late Old English as well.

Conall and Lùthais were on a hunting trip in the early autumn of 988 when they stumbled through a rift that brought them to Lakeshore in early November. They don’t know how or if or when they’ll be able to go home, but for the moment they’re trying to make the best of it.

Appearance: 6’7” and lean, with yellow eyes and straight silver hair, worn loose. He dresses in fine clothing befitting his status as a medieval lord, and carries a steel sword for protection against the Fair Folk as much as human bandits.
