Anguis flicked his tongue, catching the familiar scent of Birdman Who Does Not Regularly Threaten Death. He slithered readily into Zaïren's open palm, winding up his arm with ease of practice until he could drape himself over the blonde's shoulder. He nestled down, mooching off Zaïren's body heat, and made a tiny hissing noise; all the while he was looking up at the other person.

When the snake wound its way up her friend's arm, Rúna decided that was the last straw. Rubbing her head and hissing in pain, she crept forward and picked up her drawing supplies as quickly as she could with her free hand, avoiding looking at the snake as much as possible.

"I have to go," she said, meeting Zaïren's eyes. "Sorry to cut this short, but I need to see Ellie. See you later?" She tried to smile, but it was half a wince anyway.

Zaïren had thought showing the snake was pretty friendly would work. Apparently he'd been sorely mistaken. "That did seem like quite the knock. Yeah, I'll see you around. Go get your head taken care of, it'll probably hurt something awful soon."

He reached up and stroked Anguis' head gently. Honestly, he was pretty fond of the snake. Quiet, friendly -though that probably had more to do with the fact that Zaïren didn't mind sharing body heat - and always entertaining when Neylen was startled.

Rúna didn't feel like pointing out that it already did, not to mention that her back was now aching as well. She nodded, gave the snake a frightened glance -- friendly or not, it still made her skin crawl -- and hurried into the building.
